My scientific activity aims to develop advanced methods and materials for bio-molecular recognition applied to biomarker discovery and to diagnosis, with a strong focus to system integration and technology development. Applications in healthcare include allergy, infectious diseases, diagnostic signatures for neurodegeneration and inflammation. Quite recently I took an interest on extracellular vesicles towards the prospective of their use in routine diagnostic assays and I’m tackling the currently unmet challenges they pose in terms of isolation and analysis. Specifically I’m working on affinity-capturing protocols from complex samples for isolation and on microarray-based platforms for their structural and molecular characterization More details and updates:
