Mechanism Enhanced ECL Technology - MEET
Abstract: Ultimate goal of MEET is the proof-of-principle demonstration of a novel electrochemical platform for the highly sensitive detection of cells and tumor biomarkers. The system merges complementary expertise where ultrabright Ir and Ru luminophores are coupled with the MEET 3D nanostructured electrodes and concur to the generation of intense electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL).
ECL is produced according to the coreactant approach where an excited state is generated through the reaction between the luminophore and the coreactant which is anodically oxidised at the electrode.
The expansion and nanostructuration of the space between the micro-object and the underlying electrode surface will lead to a strict spatial control of ECL signal which will finally result in highly sensitive new diagnostic tools for single cell analysis and cancer diagnostics.
