Research activity at the CNR since 1986, in the area of the preparation and use of enzymes in organic synthesis and for other biotechnological purposes (treatment of biofilms, biosensors). Role of the formulation on the conformation of enzymes and on the catalytic activity.
-Analysis of proteins, lipids or antibiotics in food using different analytical techniques.
Francesco received the Laurea in Biological Science from the University of Milan in 1992. This was followed by post-laurea studies at the University of Georgia in the US and since 1997 he is a research scientist at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), in Milan, where now he is a Senior scientist at the Istituto di Scienze e Tecnologie Chimiche “Giulio Natta”. His current research interests are in the area of enzyme technologies, devoting particular attention to biocatalyst formulation for catalysis in non-aqueous media and to enzyme immobilization. These objectives are pursued through studies of enzyme activity, stability and conformation.
