StratiGraph - Knowledge Graphs for Stratigraphy
Abstract: StratiGraph develops an innovative platform based on knowledge graphs for stratigraphic documentation and interpretation in cultural heritage. It is integrated within the ECCCH (European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage) platform developed by ECHOES (European Cloud for Heritage OpEn Science). The project integrates desktop and web tools with AI and 3D technologies to improve archaeological and paleontological documentation. The platform supports both online and offline modes, enabling real-time correlation between field observations and existing knowledge bases. StratiGraph significantly reduces the time from discovery to publication, improving the accuracy of documentation and the interpretation of shared cultural heritage, while ensuring that data control and ownership remain exclusively within institutions based in the European Union.
